Christian joined Ed Dissinger and the family business in 2003. Dedicated to keeping the business in the family, Christian purchased the agency in 2009 and Dissinger Reed was formed. With an extensive resume in sales, management and strategic planning, he has helped Dissinger Reed grow into one of the largest athletic insurance agencies in the country. Christian grew up in Newport Beach, California and graduated from Arizona State University. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Chrissy, and coaching the teams of his four children.

Ed Dissinger

Founder (Retired)

Ed officially retired from Dissinger Reed on January 1, 2019 and his mark on the business will always be appreciated.  He masterfully worked in the insurance business for forty-six years. Ed started the Employee Benefit Division for Lockton Insurance Agency in 1982. In 2001, Ed traded his Lockton ownership and started Dissinger Insurance Services.  In 2009, Christian Reed purchased the company, which is now known as Dissinger Reed. Ed now enjoys retired life with his wife Suzy, 8 children and 19 grandchildren.  His legacy will always remain!

Mindee Holmes

Senior Vice President – High School Sports & Activities

Mindee has been in the insurance industry since 1993. As a company representative, working with Ed and Christian, she became good friends with the agency. In 2005, Mindee joined the Dissinger Reed Team and has been an instrumental part of the agency’s overall growth. Mindee oversees Dissinger Reed’s association business. She is also responsible for the financial and operational functions at the agency. A musician at heart, Mindee spends as much time as she can singing and has started learning to play the guitar. Mindee and her boys reside in Olathe, Kansas.

Chris Nixon

Senior Vice President, Collegiate Sales

Joining the team in 2010, Chris used his professional relationship building skill set and sales experience to make an immediate impact at Dissinger Reed. He personally works with over 60 collegiate institutions. Chris has grown his business by helping his clients find innovative ways to improve their athletic insurance program. After growing up in a small Colorado mountain town, Chris, his wife and 3 children now reside in Overland Park and are Jayhawks for life!

Chuck Howze

Vice President, Collegiate Sales

With a background in employee benefits, Chuck has been an invaluable member of the Dissinger Reed Team. His knowledge and unique perspective lends itself to providing innovative solutions to his clients, while helping them achieve their desired results. In the midst of the 2013 Midwest snowstorms, Chuck decided to move his family from Florida. Never forgetting his roots, Chuck cheers on his Gators from Kansas. Chuck and his wife, with their three boys, reside in Overland Park.

Donita DeBoer

Unit Leader, Collegiate & High School Sports

After being a client of Ed’s for 20 years, Donita joined the Dissinger Reed Team in 2009. Donita’s experience as a Director of Human Resources has brought a wealth of knowledge to help expand and assist the team in growing the business. She works closely with clients, assisting them with their day to day insurance needs. On the weekends, you might catch Donita on her Harley Davidson, enjoying a beautiful afternoon. Donita and her husband, Greg, reside in Overland Park.

Justin Vandewynkle

Account Executive

Justin joined the Dissinger Reed team in 2014. His main focus while being with the company has been in customer service and sales. Since joining the Dissinger Reed team, Justin has worked with a variety of clientele including our college, high school and Headstrong concussion partners. As a retired professional paintball player, Justin is an avid sports fan rooting for his local Kansas City teams including the Royals, Chiefs and the Kansas Jayhawks – his alma mater. Justin and his wife, Amanda, reside in Olathe, Kansas with their son, Cameron, and dog, Opie.

Andrew Allen

Consultant, Collegiate Sales

Andrew joined the Dissinger Reed team in 2019.  With over 10 years of insurance experience, Andrew provides first class customer service while creating comprehensive solutions for his college and university clientele. Andrew enjoys golf and played at Marshalltown Community College in his home state of Iowa before chasing the mini tours for a few years out of college.  Andrew now lives in Mission Hills with his wife, Madeline, and son, Bradley.
