The NFHS and Dissinger Reed have specifically designed an insurance plan to cover all registered members. Plan details are as follows:
What are my insurance benefits as a NFHS Music Teacher or Director?:
As a member of the National Federation of High Schools Music Association, you are provided with an insurance package which includes, General Liability, Accident Medical and Accidental Death and Dismemberment insurance. This insurance package is provided to you as part of your membership dues. There is no additional fee.
What music teacher or directors are covered?:
- Individual members of the NFHS Music Association
- State and local associations that have 100% membership in the NFHS Music Association
What activities are covered?:
- Coverage during an interscholastic music contest or festival whether such event occurs before, during or after the school day
- Coverage while conducting a school sponsored clinic with an interscholastic music group, whether such clinic occurs before, during or after the school day
- Coverage while judging at an interscholastic music contest or festival before, during or after the school day
- Coverage while attending a national, state or local music association conference or meeting before, during or after the school day
- Coverage while serving as an interscholastic music contest or festival manager before, during or after the school day
- No coverage for performing regular teaching duties
- Coverage while teaching private, school sponsored lessons before, during and after the school day provided the school authorizes the private lesson program and the lessons are taught on-site on school property
- No coverage for teaching private, non-school sponsored lessons
- Coverage for school sponsored travel, as a group, to and from covered activities
- No coverage for individual travel
